Software Quality Assurance Tester at Kineo

Job description

The role is in the Learning Platforms team, which specialises in implementing Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other learning platforms.

Job purpose:

To ensure successful execution of testing is carried out for projects from a pool of global projects. (UK, US , Africa and Asia Pacific)

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• The tester is expected to carry out a range of tasks associated primarily with the testing of Totara and Moodle-based projects, including retesting of one-off bug tickets. This will include, but may not be limited to:
• The testing, reporting and verification of issues identified throughout products and services created and supported by Kineo
• Following steps within pre-written test packs
• Recording defects within a bug tracking databases
• Create test scripts
• Ensure you are clearly briefed on products scheduled for testing in a timely manner and that you resource the necessary tools to meet the needs of testing escalating any issues affecting productivity to the Head of Testing & QA or higher when necessary
• Ensure all communication is handled professionally and in a timely manner
• Ensure knowledge of Kineo products and their features is maintained and that you raise awareness of training needs that would otherwise affect the quality level of services delivered
• Work as part of a team or alone to develop and deliver the testing processes for Kineo products and services
• Work on multiple projects throughout the day, each potentially at various stages of development and identify the priorities needed for successfully delivery

Essential Skills and abilities:

• Keen eye for detail
• A mind set for being inquisitive and wanting to know how things work
• Ability to work quickly and accurately to strict deadlines
• To be able to take instruction but also think on your feet when required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable Experience:

• Experience of using the Moodle/Totara LMS
• Experience of using bug tracking software
• Experience of accessibility testing
