Key Performance Outputs

The successful candidate, reporting to the Group Manager Risk Management will be responsible for the following:

• Provide input into and implement risk management framework and methodology to ensure achievement of business objectives cost effectively and within the regulatory and legislative framework;
• Facilitate the annual identification and assessment of all key risks affecting the achievement of the ACSA’s strategic, tactical and operational objectives and manage risk as per statutory requirements;
• Provide input into the determination and quantification of the ACSA’s risk values, risk appetite and risk tolerance limits in line with the approved company Risk Framework;
• Maintain input or data quality of Risk Management systems;
• Research best practices in corporate governance to adopt and align it with the ACSA’s practices;
• Ensure close collaboration of all risk management activities with compliance and Internal Audit teams;
• Provide input into the overall risk management culture of the organization;
• Provide relevant and specialised technical support / advice to relevant stakeholders with regards to risks imposed to ACSA;
• Support combined Assurance activities and to ensure activities are well coordinated and executed;
• Develop risk management reports for reporting to executive management and Board committees;
• Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal (peers, unions, team) as well as external (service providers etc.) relationships and implement remedial actions where required to ensure minimum risk to the company.

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience will be required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/Risk Management/ Audit
• Membership with the Institute of Risk Management South Africa would be preferred.
• 6 - 8 years’ operational experience in Risk Management is essential;
• Knowledge and experience in project, quality, financial management
• Knowledge of the relevant legislation;
• Understanding of relevant Risk Management Software;
• Knowledge of Enterprise-wide Risk Management process.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will display outstanding communication skills combined with unquestionable planning and monitoring work, and conflict management skills. It is essential that the incumbent is able to consistently deliver accurate work of a high quality by paying attention to detail. Diplomacy and ability to manage negotiations serves as key competency for this challenging position
