Job description

Roche Diagnostics in Midrand is seeking a Medical Affairs Manager to implement medical scientific strategies to communicate and highlight the medical value of strategic products to relevant public and private sector stakeholders in order to build a strong medical platform. The role would entail supporting subject matter experts (SME’s) and health care providers with suitable medical information in order to build a disease platform, update care pathways and formulary.

Your role will entail:

• Medical Management
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with relevant SME’s, health care providers and professional organizations/bodies, academic bodies (public and private sectors) with suitable medical information to build a disease platform and support the evolution of clinical guidelines and algorithms.
• Assisting the head of the department with providing input into the development and implementation of an economic and medical value strategy to position assigned products with funders and other key stakeholders.
• Developing and implementing medical strategies to educate on disease and key products in designated markets in alignment with the relevant global and local business and therapeutic areas strategies.
• Supporting, advising and updating the product management team with relevant market dynamics and medical insights into marketing strategies for key products.
• Developing and overseeing the clinical educational activities of the Medical Science Liaison team in accordance with medical strategies.
• Educating the relevant internal and external stakeholders on medical value of strategic products.
• Supporting the clinical research team.
• Tracking medical KPI’s and the Medical Science Liaison team’s ability to move health care providers along a disease continuum.
• Creating disease specific Roche medical advocates.
• Being a compliance and systems champion for relevant SOPs and systems.

Desired Skills and Experience

You, as an ideal candidate, will have the following skills, experience and education:

Required Qualification: MBCHB with qualifications in Pharmaco-Economics, Public Health, Economics or Business an advantage.

Required Experience: 1-3 years Medical Affairs experience with a healthcare supplier (pharmaceuticals, medical devices or IVD), with Medical Science Liaison team management experience as an advantage.
