Prepare and file patent applications, including electronic filings.
Prosecuting patent applications through to registration and post-registration, maintenance and renewals.
Providing opinions and quotes on the registerability of patents in Africa and international territories.
Preparing correspondence related to patent infringement proceedings.
Instituting proceedings on the basis of patent infringement.
Drafting correspondence and agreements.
Researching law and drafting opinions.
Attending independently to smaller matters and aspects of larger matters including drafting commercial IP agreements, advising on the IP aspects of mergers and acquisitions and other commercial transactions and attending to IP due diligences.
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Chemical Engineering or M.Sc (Chemistry)
Degree in Law (LLB graduate)
Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
Member of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law (SAIIPL)
