    Corporate Banking - Strategy Consultant

    Job description

    Role purpose:

    The startegist will spend most of their time with our clients to understand and anticipate client/ industry needs – and uncover mutually rewarding opportunities. Using a differentiated client engagement methodology.

    Strategists develop unique and actionable insights that, in partnership with RMB divisions, leads to winning, retaining and growing primary banker status of our chosen clients.

    • Client engagement
    • Identification and development of opportunities
    • Business case development
    • Research and analytical outputs
    • Financial analysis
    • Stakeholder collaboration
    • Strategic client planning
    • Presentations and client pitches
    • Writing client feedback documents
    • Contribute to revenue growth targets

    Experience and qualifications:

    Relevant degree required

    • 10+ years relevant experience:
    • Client consulting experience highly preferable
    • Corporate banking experience preferable
    • Experience in dealing with C-suite executives (client facing experience mandatory)
    • Very strong verbal and written communication (English first language)
    • Full MS Office capabilities (Advanced level: Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
    • Competencies:
    • Consulting skills (spending time with clients, asking the right questions, making meaningful observations, documenting findings, providing recommendations)
    • Interpersonal skills (working closely with internal stakeholders, understanding and aligning with shared goals, engaging with C-suite executives, building rapport, influencing)
    • Financial and economic acumen (practical understanding of financial statements, good working sense of macro and micro economics, business case development, modelling of data, understanding of behavioural economics)
    • Strategic thinking abilities are critical (being able to visualise future state, understand big picture thinking, differentiating between operational and strategic issues, spotting strategic themes)
    • Expert written and verbal communication (professional and formal written responses to clients, client presentations and pitches, findings and recommendations documentation)
    • Facilitation skills (ability to facilitate workshops, brainstorms and discussion forums at all levels)
    • Well-developed research and analytical abilities (have a research mindset, being able to find and leverage various sources of information to improve understanding, doing data analysis, testing theories)
    • Banking knowledge (solid understanding of corporate and investment banking products and services)
    • Sector knowledge/Industry expertise (understanding international and local industry best practices and behavioural trends, ability to stay relevant and up to speed with current events)
    • Brand building (being able to leverage brand building tools to proactively help develop and grow our brand).
