Purpose of the job

Implement and execute / maintain condition monitoring programme

Job specificationSpecific experience required

• Minimum of  4 years Vibration and Tribology experience
• Proven experience of underground Coal Mining / Surface / Plant activities

• Proven track record of supervisory experience

• Knowledge and experience of Sasol Mining processes, Underground / Plant (wish)
• Risk assessment and SOP’s
• Sound knowledge of Maintenance Principles
• Proven experience on Underground  or  Surface / Plant equipment
• Technical background
• Experience on Laser alignment, Thermography and Ultrasound
• Sound knowledge of root cause problem solving
• Knowledge of the CSI condition monitoring software (wish)

Required outputs: Functional

• Execute the entire Predictive maintenance programme
• Set-up and execute the Vibration programme
• Set-up and execute the Tribology programme
• Safety management
• Ensure that COP’s and SOP’s are understood and adhered to
• Implement new standards and technology

Qualifications and expertise required (Must)

• Minimum academic qualification of N3/Grade 12 with Maths and Science
• Qualified artisan (Electro-mechanical / Mechanical / Electrical)
• Relevant Vibration and Tribology courses
• Code EB (code 8) drivers license
• Valid red ticket

• Evaluate personnel training needs, schedule for training and coach sub-ordinates towards requirements for next higher level

• Provide specific expertise and  coaching and training on condition monitoring recommendations
