Job Description:

This role falls under IT-Shared Services as it will be responsible for 7 different Business Units and report directly in to the Group IT Manager. The successful incumbent is responsible for applications and systems strategy implementation for the Africa Group and also applications development, testing, support and solution architect leader. They must manage the applications team and contractors. The role will also involve liaison with Business Unit users and senior management.
 
Responsibilities:

• Lead the application teams through the whole SDLC
• Manage the applications team to deliver on support SLA
• Develop clear user requirements and technical definitions of all solution deliverables including milestones and project plans
• Work with other architects and stakeholders to identify and investigate opportunities to use new and emerging technologies and associated migration paths
• Day to day management of the team, application support and leading the team to agreed outcomes
• Drive a culture of benefits realisation
• Vendor, third party and contract management
• Challenge, motivate and continually develop a high performing technical team

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Team management and budget management experience essential
• SAP experience advantageous
• Involves a lot of client interaction so must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Must have a good understanding of Business Analytics and Business Intelligence
