Job description

Main Purpose

Schedules and carries out coastal modelling and coastal engineering project tasks for the Ports & Marine Terminals Business Unit under the general direction of the Coastal Engineering Analyst. In addition to technical responsibilities, assistance in proposals preparation and some involvement in business development within the Coastal Engineering area are required.

Experience

• Some experience in coastal engineering, including the computational modeling of coastal processes would be an advantage.
• Specialist Skill(s)
• Technical report writing skills
• Data processing skills (Matlab, Grapher, Surfer, Excel, ArcGIS)

Core Responsibilities

• Responsible for the technical execution of specific tasks on coastal engineering projects, including coastal modelling (waves, hydrodynamics, sediment transport, water quality) as required.
• Assist in development of project proposals as required.
• Input into feasibility and design criteria reports for coastal engineering works.
• Assists with preparation of tender documentation for coastal engineering projects.
• Assists with the upkeep of storage and listing of all coastal engineering specific standardsstored on the computer.
