Minimum Requirements:

• Related University Degree (e.g. BSc, B.Com).
• Engineering/Chemistry major or a postgraduate degree.
• Solid years of experience in a simial environment.
• Experience in operations and in management consulting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Participate in setting goals for budget adherence and controls for sub-function and comply to monthly budgets.
• Business, operations, and project analysis and improvement:
• Perform and oversee the analysis of historic and current business, operations, and projects performance data considering internal and external performance standards in terms of cost and productivity; working mainly with Management accountant, operational and financial analysts.
• Work with BI Manager to identify initiatives aimed at performance improvement in terms of cost reduction, volume expansion or replacement, revenue increase through price increase, and product portfolio improvement, or reduction of capital employed or working capital.
• Manage and facilitate the documentation related to analysis of specific improvement initiatives through engagement with initiative owners (e.g. Mining Manager, Plant Manager)
• Oversee and follow-up on with initiative owners (Mining Manager, Plant Manager, Project Manager etc.) and challenge the workplans/progress and implementation of improvement initiatives according to agreed schedule and budget.
• Support operations with implementation on select improvement initiatives.
• Support and maintain a healthy and diverse workable internal relations (peers, site operation teams and projects teams).
• Provide relevant and business improvement support to applicable stakeholders.
• Assist with and develop and coach lower level team members (Business Analysts)
• Comply with HR and company policies and procedures as well as legislation and current labour agreements.
• Adhere to statutory safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices such as PPE, safe working practices, handling of explosives, re-entering periods etc.
• Promote adherence to safety, health and environmental practices and procedures. Identify and report unsafe and potential hazardous situations.
• Participate in regular safety meetings.
• Evaluate and provide inputs to projects and operations planning.
