POSITION SYNOPSIS:

The purpose of this role is to enable the business to embed continuous improvement principles and initiatives and ensure that resources are directed effectively at the highest value projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Serious contenders will have Degree / BTECH / National Diploma in Mining Engineering/ Industrial Engineering with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a Mining environment of which at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity;
• Knowledge of production planning and management systems is essential;
• Valid Driver’s license is essential;
• Proficiency working with SAP is essential;
• Mine Overseer Certificate will be an added advantage;
• Knowledge of Projects and Project Management skills will be an added advantage.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Evaluate and improve mining, mine planning, processes and systems;
• Analyse mining, mine planning and processes to optimize production;
• Analyses performance metrics and benchmarks performance across the function;
• Conducts compliance checks to verify adherence to local operating procedures;
• Updates operating standards, procedures, work instructions, control systems, and ensures critical controls are effective;
• Compiles and maintains the portfolio of Improvement initiatives and works with the Production Execution sub-function to execute the portfolio;
• Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on major failures and facilitate of solutions to address root causes;
• Facilitate Improvement Initiatives through the various phases from initiating to handover.
