Main purposes of function

• Marketing
• Develop, implement and execute marketing strategy with budget responsibility for Southern Africa
• Drive Sales
• Meet sales targets
• Set and execute tactical sales plans
• Key account management
• Continuous Improvement
• Lead South African organization to deliver Process Improvement Savings of at least 5% per quarter
• Ensure our customers get the best possible service
• Improve current work processes
• Build on training and development within the South African organization
• Leadership
• Manage sales-, marketing, and operations staff.
• Set goals for each staff and give appraisals twice per year
• Profitability
• Manage SG&A expenses below agreed marketing budget.
• Manage expense growth rate well below sales growth rate.
• Profile of ideal candidate
• Bilingual: Afrikaans and English, excellent in writing and spoken
• Formal education or training in marketing/commerce/sales
• At least 5 years applied marketing experience
• At least 3 years applied sales experience, preferably key account management
• At least 3 years leadership role with at least 2 staff
• Willingness to travel (local and overseas) and work on weekends (exhibitions)
• Willingness to work in a small, but international company
• Being able to efficiently wear many different hats during a work week
• Stays focussed when operational and customer pressure is mounting
• Presentable, outgoing, sharp, can differentiate between profitable opportunities and non-profitable, not shy questioning status quo, embraces change
• No criminal record
