About The Role

As a Senior Solutions Architect you will work in a team alongside a group of talented multi-skilled professionals to deliver a world class web and mobile experience to support our clients and advisers. The Solutions Architect role is accountable for architecting and designing comprehensive solutions that meet  business requirements.

You will partner with key roles (e.g. enterprise architects, project managers, business analysts, testers, developers.) to create well-defined solutions that are aligned to the company’s IT Strategy and leverage common solutions and services, to meet key project goals.

Specific responsibilities:

• Hands on Designing of technical solutions that support Retails value chain and align to the overall enterprise architecture of Retail.
• Ensure the design are documented as per the Retail Enterprise architecture tool e.g. Enterprise Architect or as simple as Visio
• Ensure the governance of the design, implementation and functioning of the various solutions across the value chain is enforced.
• Take accountability for the overall design, implementation and functioning of solutions within Retail with a focus on the Client and Agent Facing Solutions.
• Ensure Retail priorities are met according to business requirement and expectation.
• Ensure that standards, disciplines and processes are followed.
• Analysis of business requirements must present viable options / solutions, and implementation must address the key issues as well as take the strategic intent and end to end solution into account
• Partner with Enterprise Architects for specific sub-domains (e.g. Network, Storage) in support of solution definition and development.
• Provide input to Enterprise Infrastructure domains (e.g. Network, Storage) in support of solution definition and development.
• Infrastructure setup
• Capacity and infrastructure planning.
• Proactively look for ways to save costs.

Minimum Requirements:

• 8+ years general experience in IT
• BCom Information Systems; BSc Computer Science or related degree / diploma preferable
• Have worked with an agile development teams focused on test and learn strategies.
• Implemented large object orientated solutions with a given track record in new Java on SOA based platforms.
• Experience in implementing SOA / SOC projects.
• Experience in UML
• Experience SOAML will be beneficial
• Experience in developing J2EE 3.1, JAX-WS 2.0, SCA
• Experience in developing JavaScript / HTML5 single page applications
• Experience in developing with JavaScript Frameworks namely DOJO, JQuery
• Experience in developing Rest Based Applications / API’sExperience in implementing solutions on Technology Platforms, Application Servers and framework
• Application Server solutions and frameworks (e.g. BEA, IBM)
• Service oriented architecture (SOA) – Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), integration patterns.
• Infrastructure, storage, networks
