Job Summary

The focus of the engagement will be to assist with the transition to new revenue recognition requirements and take on other special projects as assigned by the Controller. This may include one or more of the following functions:

• Gain an understanding of current revenue management policies
• Understand and document new revenue accounting rules as they apply specifically to the Business Area and the impact to all areas of the business – as outlined by outside accountants, Controller and local financial representative.
• Collaboratively assist/drive the transition of the business processes to accommodate new guidelines and meet new requirements for accounting, reporting and forecasting
• Assist in developing tools and operational procedures to build new business processes.
• Provide recommendations to improve operational procedures and systems related to revenue processes, procedures, and controls
• The successful candidate must work well in a team environment while being a resourceful, independent self-starter able to work effectively with minimal direction.

Skills & Experience Required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong problem-solving abilities
• Strong Microsoft Office application skills, especially Excel
• Knowledge of business operations, processes, technology, and business strategy to evaluate problems and opportunities
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret contracts for their revenue recognition implications
• General understanding of new revenue recognition guidance (ASC606)
• Ideal candidate would have 6-12 years of related work experience, with significant experience working in the software industry with emphasis on software revenue recognition.
• Former Controller, CFO or Financial Manager interested in a 6-12 month assignment would be ideal.
