Estimator - E&I at First Quantum Minerals LTD

Key Responsibilities:

• Taking off quantities from drawings, lists and schedules produced by the engineers and building up bills of quantities for each project based on FQM specifications and requirements. This also includes managing changes made to the design and identifying possible shortfalls.
• Capturing quantities into CCS software and assigning manhour norms and material resources to generate an estimate of work to be carried out and material purchasing lists per project, codifying materials in the Materials Expediting Report.
• Assist with the procurement of materials and site requisitions, issuing enquiries and adjudicating pricing and technical submissions for materials followed by submitting material requisition adjudications to the Perth office for purchasing.
• Assist the Project Engineer: E&I with manpower requirement planning for each project.
• Assist with site progress measurement & reporting when required.
• Managing the document control system.

Qualifications:

An electrical qualification or qualified by experience.

Experience:

A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in mining construction and estimating including E&I construction site experience, advanced excel skills, and experience in using CCS software.

Other Requirements:

Occasional travel to remote sites.
