Job Summary

Statement Aveng Mining offers services across the mining value chain, from shaft sinking, underground development, contract mining and open cut mining, to construction of mine infrastructure. The operating group's experience spans a broad range of commodities and it has worked successfully in remote and difficult locations.
The incumbent will be responsible for vertical shaft sinking.

Minimum Requirements ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12
• Electrical or Mechanical Engineer Diploma / Degree
• Government Certificate of Competence

Experience

• 3 or more years’ experience in a mining environment as a Government Certificate of Competence mining Engineer
• Shaft Sinking experience will be advantage

Duties & Responsibilities

• Required to hold the legal responsibility as per the 2.13.3.2 legal appointment for the whole sinking operation.
• This includes Shaft sinking, underground, tailing facilities, electrical reticulation and projects. (Surface infrastructure)
• Work with subject matter experts to create, review and process drawings and other submittals that are required to document the construction process
• Establish, monitor, communicate and maintain project schedules
• Proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions
• Develop an understanding of how to maintain and require compliance with all contract terms and legal requirements that govern the project to prevent rework and delays
• Participate in managing activities that are related to project closeout to ensure timely completion
• Assist with the evaluation of projects for constructability and value-engineer cost savings
• Develop and implement maintenance systems
• Develop and implement safety procedures, standards and systems
• Ensure all contractors operate safely and in accordance with the designs, instructions, relevant standards and COP’s
