Purpose of Job / Role Intent:

• Support the quality assurance of commercial activities and deliverables in the front-end loading phases of the capital project (prior to Stage Gate 4), thereby enabling capital projects to be completed as per the project objectives.

• Develop front-end loading through tools, templates and other supporting materials.

• To support in the delivery of commercial front-end loading deliverables in higher tier and priority projects.

• Support engagement with various senior external parties (service providers, JVs, governments, etc.) to align on objectives at a project layer.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required

• B Degree (Commercial, Legal, B Eng or B Sc)

• 8 years of relevant experience

Key accountabilities

Research, review and provide input on all technology and catalyst contracting matters:

• Review of commercial agreements

• Support deal negotiation and deal structuring

• Support the conceptual structuring of Capital Projects

• Stay abreast on commercial best practice on capital project procurement

• Develop business cases for commercial alternatives

• Support the pre-Gate 4 Capital Project Contracting for all projects up to and including Tier 4:

• Review of contracts and contracting documentation

• Provide input into the project scope

• Support in negotiations

• Conduct or advise on appropriate market analysis

• Identify and highlight project risk

• Develop the necessary enabling tools exist to support effective capital project contracting (pre stage gate 4).
