    (1886) Associate Trade Settlement Officer - FMD

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following key performance areas:

    • Manage the end-to-end settlement of domestic financial market transactions. 
    • Process and authorise bond, money market and repo transactions. 
    • Capture and verify settlement and accounting transactions accurately. 
    • Ensure compliance with Strate rules, regulations and SARB policies. 
    • Monitor settlement deadlines and ensure timely processing of transactions. 
    • Manage collateral activities, including lodging, release and substitution of collateral. 
    • Perform daily reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly. 
    • Investigate and resolve failed, rejected or unmatched settlement transactions. 
    • Provide settlement support and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and clients. 
    • Maintain accurate records and support process improvements and automation initiatives.
    • Participate in strategic and operational projects.

    Qualifications

    To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

    • a Diploma in Financial Management (NQF6) or an equivalent qualification; and
    • a minimum of two to five years’ job-related experience.

    The following would be an added advantage:

    •   completed STRATE and/or JSE settlement certificate.
    •   excellent interpersonal skills.
    •   excellent communication skills (verbal and written). 
    •   a high degree of self-motivation. 

    Additional requirements include: 

    • in-depth knowledge and understanding of domestic financial markets, instruments and stakeholders.
    • working knowledge and understanding of domestic market systems (e.g., collateral systems, Flexcube, SWIFT, SAMOS).
    • customer service orientation.
    • proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
    • willingness to occasionally work overtime when required; and
    • proven ability to multi-task, deliver results, and respond quickly and effectively to requests.
