Job description

The Systems Engineer will primarily be responsible for performing automated day-to-day Support and Maintenance, system management, implementing and maintaining required standards as well as the assessment and execution of improvement initiatives in the IT environment.

Key Requirements:

• 5- 10 years working experience
• MCSE or MCITP or relevant qualification essential
• Microsoft Active Directory experience is essential (2012 or above)
• Microsoft Office experience is beneficial but not essential
• Cisco Networking & Firewall Certification beneficial but not essential
• VoIP Certification beneficial but not essential
• Lotus Notes & SQL Advantageous

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

• Must have good Project Management skills to implement upgrades / changes to an IT environment
• Strong problem solving skills in both onsite and remote scenarios
• Experience with VMWare Management
• Strong Networking experience essential
• At least 2 years work experience working on MS Windows 7 (& Above)
• Must take responsibility for company asset management ensuring documentation is kept up to date and accounted for
• Ability to draft an IT budget for finance with regards to IT expenses that need to be covered per annum per site
• Knowledge and experience with fundamentals of solving hardware related issues on Desktops /Laptops/ Servers
• Ensure IT related SLA agreemeents are met by service providers and ensure that the correct action is taken
• To provide detailed reports to company Director with regards to IT services in use at the site and outstanding projects / procedures requested.
• Experience in managing IT stock list to ensure stock levels are managed according to current demand

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Diagnose, investigate and resolve incidents and problems;
• Perform numerous system management activities in accordance with the contract deliverables;
• Conduct request fulfilment;
• Execute pre-planned tasks as per documented instructions;
• Execute daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and as needed tasks as defined per technology/product;
• Perform predictable, repeatable and automated day-to-day system management and Support, Implement and Maintain Standards.
• Planning and implementation of initiatives to drive growth and adoption of product features
