Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in defining the design brief or setting up the design concept to answer the brief for new multi-platform projects
• Producing worldclass creative digital interfaces and design elements (responsive websites, apps, email campaigns, social media)
• Creating wireframes, storyboards, user/process flows and site maps
• Understand usability and navigation issues and integrate these into complex design projects
• Liaise with technical, commercial, editorial, project management and product management staff
• Research and prepare material in support of new design concepts and create working drawings, storyboards and layouts to evaluate and present these ideas
• Contribute to any existing design styles and ensure that any design work for new multi-platform projects supports OR evolves these where appropriate
• Re-purpose existing elements and templates as required by design changes
• Keep abreast of industry design developments and technology, and be able to interpret how these would impact services from a design perspective.
• To share information, ideas and best practice with team members
• Do best-in-class work

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years experience in digital design
• Experience of working in a digital creative agency
• A strong portfolio that shows understanding of brand marketing principles balanced with creativity and innovation
• An excellent understanding of systems, information architecure and user experience
• Must feel comfortable working in a collaborative team environment

Competencies:

• Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of frontend development (HTML5 and CSS)
• Good knowledge of responsive and adaptive design
• Solid experience in UX and UI design best practices and a mobile-first approach
• Experience in newsletter design, animated banners and infographics
• Ability to justify and present your design solutions internally
• Knowledge of different digital platforms – web, mobile (iPad and iPhone & Android) & Google applications
• A passion for digital design and trends
• Attention to detail
• Organised and able to prioritise work to meet deadlines
• Patient and flexible
• Good communication skills
• Innovative and creative

Advantageous:

• Multimedia and motion graphics
• Video-editing with Adobe After Effects and Premier Pro
• Understanding of Wordpress, PHP and Bootstrap
