Job Summary Statement Aveng Grinaker-LTA is a multi-disciplinary construction group, anchored in South Africa and focused on selected infrastructure, energy and mining opportunities in Africa

The incumbent will be responsible to support the Foreman - Plant in maintaining all plant in the Workshop and on sites to ensure plant availability for all sites to carry out customer expectations as per the requirements of the projects.

Minimum Requirements

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Qualified as an Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic with at least N3 academic qualification and own tools

Experience

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction or similar industry working as an Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic

• Experience of maintaining Plant used in Construction industry

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on all types of plant owned by Plant & Assets.
• Attending to breakdowns on various sites
• Maintain plant according to set standards and procedures
• Ordering and following up of spares
• Performing accurate and up to date administration on workmanship
• Traveling to sites to work on plant as and when required by the Plant Foreman
• Responsible for SHE related to maintenance of plant, including housekeeping
• Share knowledge and train apprentices that may be assigned to you
• Fault-finding
• Optimise machine availability
• Target, goal and deadlines must be a priority

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

• Basic knowledge in boiler making,
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulic systems
• Knowledge in mechanical theory
• Be able to work in a team
• Must have good communication skills
• Must be able to work independently
• Must enforce good house keeping
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Valid code 8 driver’s license with own transport
