Senior Manager: Short term facilities at Nedbank

Job purpose

To be responsible for analysing the existing lending working capital book and guiding stakeholders in originating, assessing and developing deal flow through relationships (existing and to be developed) in order to assist clients in managing their short-term cash flow requirements.

Key Performance Areas

• Managed Financial and Business Results
• Ensure risk mitigated growth in short term working capital asset book by identifying working capital opportunities that are profitable and meet bank's internal hurdle rates on returns and financial targets.
• Keep abreast of competitor activities as well as legislative and regulatory requirements by conducting market research in line with best practice and innovative thinking.
• Enhance credibility of functions by staying abreast of industry initiatives those change on an ongoing basis.
• Managed Stakeholder Relationships
• Improve service to stakeholders and clients by executing on pipeline, deal flow and transactions to world class standards and service.
• Build and maintain proactive and constructive relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders (credit and client coverage) through regular engagement and knowledge sharing.
• Build and maintain constructive relationships with internal stakeholders through thought leadership in understanding their business requirements.
• Managed Internal Processes
• Monitor facility utilisation by tracking daily client reports and taking appropriate corrective action as needed.
• Optimise organisational strategy execution by integrating people, processes, management, systems, measurements and rewards for applicable stakeholders.
• Improve policies and procedures by providing input to policy and procedure formulation, advise on guidelines, participating in interpretation of legislation, proactively managing changes on an ongoing basis and making and implementing recommendations for improvements.
• Manage risk by structuring solutions that comply with policies and processes and comply with relevant regulation, legislation and best practice on an ongoing basis.

• Ensure alignment and achievement of strategy and create a completive advantage by translating the Nedbank and Business Unit strategy into a customised Divisional strategy.
• Ensure that the leadership agenda has been embraced by the division / function by ensuring leadership relevant strategies and plans have been communicated and implemented by direct reports.

Essential qualifications

• B.Com (Accounting, Business Economics, Economics)

Preferred qualifications

• Masters degree / MBA / CA (SA) / CFA

Job related Experience

• Minimum of 10 years banking experience with at least 5 years’ experience in working capital lending.
