Purpose of the job

Improve and maintain on site search for edcon’s ecommerce websites

Key Responsibilities:-

• On Site Search
• Continuous improvement of search functionality through data gathering, analysis, and testing on site search
• Analyse on site search and faceted navigation through user feedback, on-site analytics, and benchmarking
• Align product metadata rules with search improvements, create and maintain product metadata policies used in product creation and maintenance
• Propose technical improvements to the on-site search engines, manage implementation of improvements
• Manage and maintain updates for large keyword lists used for online search and SEO
• Generate weekly and monthly reporting for onsite search
• Keep pace with search engine industry trends and developments.
• Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across all sites.
• Stay up-to-date with trends in digital marketing and analytics

Competencies

• Excellent analytical, organisational, and time management skills.
• Using and interpreting data - recognising trends and patterns, and using data to drive decision making
• · Expert proficiency in MS Excel
• Ability to solve problems
• · Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools including Google Analytics
• Passion for Search and internet marketing.

Requirements / qualifications:

• Relevant degree / Diploma
• 2 to 3 years’ experience in this or similar role
