Qualification/experience:

Electrician/engineer or equivalent with experience on Motor Control Centres/LV Switchgear.

Requirements:

• Must be able tread and analyse complex electrical schematics.
• Must be familiar with codes and standards applicable tcontrol panel design/building/manufacturing
• Must have extensive experience in tendering and understanding tender specifications (experience with large project houses and blue chip mining houses would be an advantage).
• Understand and be able tmanage contracts (not project management but contract management). Project management would be an advantage but not requirement.
• Understand the South African switchgear supplier base and be able tnegotiate and leverage pricing with suppliers.
• Have a good understanding of basic MCC design/layout and be able tsize/configure switchgear and MCC’s for the purpose of estimating accurate manufacturing cost.
• Obtain material pricing and calculate labour requirements for assembly and manufacturing of MCC’s.
• Have experience in procurement of consumables and switchgear used in the manufacture of Motor Control Centre panels.
• Have a good understanding of job costing although this is not an absolute requirement at this point.
