RESPONSIBILITIES

General

•  Assists in physical and logical database design.
•  Identifies system deficiencies and recommends solutions.
•  Understands the necessity of and contributes to coding standards.
•  Shares acquired skills with team members through formal and informal channels.
•  Encourages more junior employees to take responsibility for their development within the
• company.
•  Suggests and provides IT solutions to business and management problems
•  Creates an efficient and logical plant care databases for clients, integrating the Plant Care
• software with mechanical plant requirements, recognizes system deficiencies and
• implements effective solutions.
•  Project management of local projects, including: project planning, communication with
• customers, suppliers & internal departments, design work, equipment specification &
• adjudication, compiling of control philosophies etc.
•  Do presentations and give ad hoc training to intermediate & junior developers.
•  Mentor junior technical staff in project execution and to transfer knowledge and skills.
•  Compiling operating and maintenance procedures.
•  Pursue business opportunities identified by the Employee or RDI Manager.
•  Identify risks and develop mitigation plans and solutions.
•  Ensure the success of his/her team by helping others when the need arises and lead when
• direction is required.
•  Leads small teams of developers.
•  Facilitates effective team interaction.
•  Acknowledges and appreciates each team member's contributions.
•  Establish client or user specific requirements and propose solutions with time material and
• costing (quotations/proposals).
•  Follow up and track the status of proposals, support issues and change requests.
•  Handle technical queries raised by the client.
•  Attend project kick-off and other related meetings.
•  Conceptual and detail design of new and modified software solutions to integrate with
• existing processes and products.
•  Fulfil project management function for Research, development and innovation Services.
•  Give presentations to existing and potential clients.
•  Identify potential market opportunities in conjunction with marketing department and top
• management.
•  From time to time act as RDI Manager in his absence.
•  Understand and master the RDI system operational procedure and fulfil the development
• process requirements specified during his/her daily activities.
•  Optimise and make amendments to the RDI system operational procedure.
•  Other duties such as facilitation URS meetings, RCA’s, providing training, development of
• procedures and specifications as is normally associated with such a position as well as
• duties deemed necessary by the Managing Director or RDI Manager.
•  Provide technical assistance to better the RDI service, as and when required.
•  Additional services as determined by the RDI Manager.

Experience and Qualification:

•  Graduate Computer Engineer (B.Eng) or B.Sc (Hons) with a minimum of 4 years full time
• study.
•  Valid Code 08 driver’s license.
•  At least 3 years relevant experience in the IT development industry.
•  2 years’ practical experience in developing specification documentations and project
• planning will be advantageous.
•  Knowledge of large organisations’ business processes will be advantageous.
•  Knowledge of .NET framework, C# and SQL server will be advantageous.
•  Knowledge and experience in project management, design and development and IT
• solutions will be advantageous.
