    Campaign Lead- Herbicides

    Job description
    Role Purpose

    Lead the development & implementation of innovative & targeted marketing campaigns to achieve the growth and revenue goals of the Commercial Unit (South Africa) – part of Africa $1bn target
    Actively contribute to achieving excellence in marketing capabilities in the local organization
    Key contributor into the Territory Crop Marketing Plans, their implementation and monitoring in the local Commercial Unit

    Accountabilities

    • Marketing Campaign Prioritization
      • Work with Asset Managers to agree the prioritisation of marketing campaigns that best support our strategies and deliver our sales & profit targets
      • Help Asset Managers & Technical Teams to provide information that will equip the CUs to construct innovative campaigns that reach the selected customer target groups
      • Work with Asset Managers and Technical Teams to develop New Product Introduction launch plans.
    • Marketing Campaign Development / Scoping
      • Lead cross-functional Campaign Teams (incl. Asset Managers as required, Technical Support, Sales, etc.) to develop Marketing campaigns
      • Develop Marketing Campaign Plans and ensure that Marketing Campaigns are clearly scoped (value proposition, customer segments, timelines, KPIs, budget, etc.).
      • Provide marketing input/objectives to guide trial set-up for the CU Technical Support & Sales teams (Demo & Farm Trials)
      • Collaborate across Asset Management to produce customer and asset focussed campaigns where appropriate
      • Construct clear campaign communication briefs for Marketing Services to build with appropriate agencies where required
    • Marketing Campaign Implementation & Review
      • Deliver asset tactical marketing and campaign plans and to support commercial team and ensure delivery of maximum market share and profitable growth
      • Campaign execution: Within each campaign, ensure systematic:
      • Planning, execution, measurement and review
      • Reporting to main stakeholders within CU & Territory
      • Use and optimization of proper functionalities of Salesforce.com to enrich and exploit the customer database, which should enhance Commercial Unit CRM strategy
      • Embed the Territory Salesforce.com system ensuring it is viable and self-sustaining within the CU and is used to run and measure campaigns & improve Field Force Effectiveness
      • Overview the effectiveness of campaigns in season, and review campaign against objectives afterwards
      • Oversee and co-ordinate the execution of marketing campaigns (crop/channel/grower) through the in-country Campaign Implementation Leads, Field Force and other marketing components. Lead & drive campaign implementation, fully leveraging CRM and Sales tools
      • Provide regular feedback on campaign implementation status and KPIs progression
      • Measure campaign efficiency and effectiveness together with Sales
    • Budget Responsibility
      • Working with the Marketing Services team, manage the advertising and promotional (A&P) spend budget for the assigned crop(s)
      • Work with the Head of Customer Marketing to provide a bottom-up view of budget requirements for A&P for the following year’s budget submission
    • Go-To-Market Excellence
      • Support the Sales team in customer engagement where required
      • Work with Asset Managers & Technical Support to build & implement excellent post-patent defence strategies
      • Engage price planning, budgeting and execution discussions with the aim of delivering or exceeding volume and price targets
      • Help the sales team raise pricing exceptions to the relevant Territory Asset Managers
    • Forecasting
      • Work with sales to develop accurate forecasts for products that maximise market opportunities, beat campaign sales targets and minimise end of season stocks.
      • Taking ownership of input to the TechMark meeting, pre-S&OP and &OP process.
      • Strategic Planning support
      • Support 5-year Territory Marketing Plan by providing local customer, market & competitor insights.

    Qualifications
    Critical Knowledge

    • Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture
    • In depth knowledge of agricultural industry
    • Understanding of sales process
    • Applied knowledge of marketing practices and the use of different media in developing effective, efficient campaigns

    Critical Experience & Skills

    • Extensive applied experience in the agribusiness industry or marketing experience in a related industry
    • Proven applied experience of working with sales teams to deliver campaigns effectively
    • Experience of working with marketing functions in the development of campaigns
    • In-depth understanding of customer needs and ability to deliver innovative, customer-driven marketing campaigns
    • •Understands & applies effective grower, channel and influencer segmentation
    • Is able to use market research & intelligence effectively to understand customers, markets, channels
    • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal & presentation skills (bilingual)
    • Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office
