Responsible for the analysis, design and development of MySQL Code (tables, indexes, constraints, queries, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, etc) as part of product development.
Strong expertise in writing Code (tables, indexes, constraints, queries, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, etc) and maintenance of existing code.
Work closely with other developers (web & app) by creating and optimizing in-application SQL statements as necessary and establishing best practices.
Demonstrates expert knowledge of Query optimization, Performance tuning, and database design.
Bring marked improvements in the database layer with respect to design, performance, and database documentation.
Must be able to perform DB installs, upgrades, and patch application. As well as third-party tool installation and configuration.
Analyze and provide recommendations on application logic and interfaces to improve database performance, capacity, and availability.
Identify opportunities to optimize application data models for performance, manageability, scalability and availability.
Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases.
Documenting, establishing and evangelizing best practices within the Development team.
Strong troubleshooting skills with regards to database issues.
Knowledge of Database Administration a plus.
Knowledge of PL/SQL a plus
Strong analytical and excellent troubleshooting skills.
Technical writing skills, ability to translate complex maters in a simple, comprehensible format.
Maintains accurate and up to date documentation.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
