    Project Manager - Animation

    Job description

    We are looking for an Animation and Motion Graphics Project Manager for a fast-paced comic publication and animation company, dealing with a range of products across multiple platforms.

    The successful candidate will be meticulously organised, have excellent communication skills and will be an excellent problem-solver who is able to think on their feet and out of the box. They will be someone who is not afraid of new challenges and hard work, putting in the extra hours when necessary without being asked. They will work well with a variety of personalities and be able to manage multiple projects at the same time.

    The role provides a great opportunity to work with a talented team on exciting projects and to grow and expand your skillset.

    The successful candidate will be managing production on the hit animated television series, Supa Strikas, as well as various other short format corporate animation and motion graphic communications.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Control processes and functions that relate to production
    • Setup and run relevant creative and status meetings
    • Manage the flow of materials and/or resources through the process to ensure on time delivery
    • Produce, implement and manage project schedules
    • Coordinate the necessary studio staff, creative/art directors
    • Coordinate external suppliers and freelancers
    • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
    • Maintain and update relevant project management tools/software
    • Ensure jobs are adequately resourced and team is aware of expectations and responsibilities
    • Manage a team of designers, storyboards, animators, vfx artists, editors, writers and directors
    • Help manage the flow of assets and information between disciplines and team members
    • Day to day problem solving
    • Review task assignments, task progress and approval status daily to ensure the project is on track
    • General administration and organisation tasks

    Skills Required:

    • Animation, television, film or advertising/digital agency experience required
    • Excellent Microsoft Office knowledge – Outlook, Word, Excel & Powerpoint
    • Must be able to multi-task and change between tasks quickly and efficiently
    • Strong time management skills with the ability to focus and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment
    • Able to prioritise tasks and projects for your team members while ensuring all projects are kept on schedule
    • A thorough understanding of the creative process involved
    • Effective and self-motivated communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Be a collaborative and dynamic team-player who is able to work with many different types of personalities
    • Good motivator
    • Excellent coordinating and organisational skills
    • Able to organise and track large amounts of information
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Able to put the necessary systems and procedures in place and develop new systems where needed
    • Take initiative
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines (must be prepared to work long hours when required)
    • Ability to establish rapport with clients, client service, production, creative and suppliers
    • Exceptional problem solving skills and the ability to flag potential challenges
    • A solid work ethic and positive attitude in the face of challenging situations is vital
    • Attention to detail is essential
    • Willingness to learn, accept instruction, correction and supervision

    Skills Advantageous:

    • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Flash & Premiere)
    • Knowledge of broadcast standards, codecs and video wrappers
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Project and/or Gantt Charts
