Key Responsibilities

• With a minimum of 7 years of industry experience, you will play a key role in:
• Providing professional advise and assuming professional responsibility in role
• Implementing and exercising SMEC's quality control procesures during the entire project life cycle
• Liaising with clients
• Preparing tender proposals, expressions of interest and/or quotations
• Conducting feasibility studies
• Leading and undertaking engineering analysis and design
• Leading engineering teams through the project lifecycle
• Taking ownership of project administration duties
• Directing site investigations
• Supervising staff

Suitable candidates will have/be:

• BSc or BEng degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum 7 years’ experience post first qualification
• Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa is advantageous Candidates in the process of registration will also be considered.
• Post graduate qualification is advantageous
• Experience of Civil Engineering within the geotechnical, mining, water and environmental engineering spheres
• Engineering and construction management experience
• Good communication and writing skills (English)
