    DoubleClick Bid Manager Specialist

    Job description

Your knowledge of online media combined with your communication skills and analytical abilities shapes how new and existing business grow. Using your influencing and relationship-building skills, you provide Google-caliber client service, research and market analysis. You anticipate how decisions are made, persistently explore and uncover the business needs of Google's key clients and understand how our range of product offerings can grow their business. Working with them, you set the vision and the strategy for how their advertising can reach thousands of users.

    The Media Buying Solutions business unit is core to Google strategy and also one of the company’s fastest growing businesses. Our mission is to provide media agencies, trading desks and advertisers with the technology that enables them to succeed in the digital advertising space.

    Our ad platform DoubleClick Digital Marketing gathers the best-in-class tools for ad-serving, reporting and tracking display campaigns; managing cross-engine SEM spend, creating and serving rich media and dynamic display ads, and purchase display media from Real-Time Bidding ad exchanges.

    As a DoubleClick Bid Manager (DBM) Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting DBM clients in South Africa (agencies and clients), providing ongoing support on the platform, up selling, and pitching the DoubleClick stack value proposition. You will also work closely with the Google South Africa team on developing the South African programmatic ecosystem.

    You are expected to keep up-to-date with the latest product/feature releases, being the point of contact for any DBM related queries in your assigned region, being able to come up with strategies that leverage new/innovative solutions and developing a robust understanding of other DoubleClick products and how they can be integrated with DBM.

    We are looking for sharp, analytical minds that can solve complex problems, develop and drive business and product development as well as relationships with key stakeholders in and outside of Google in the ever-evolving display ecosystem.

    You are flexible, creative, analytical, highly attentive to detail, an excellent communicator, able to work autonomously and able to work in a very new and unstructured environment. You will possess strong sales skills and will have a highly consultative approach.

    Our Large Customer Sales teams partner closely with many of the world’s biggest advertisers and agencies to develop digital solutions that build strong businesses and brands. We enjoy a bird’s eye view on the massive transformation occurring as advertising shifts to mobile and online platforms. We're uniquely situated to help shape how companies grow their businesses in the digital age. We advise clients on Google's broad range of products across search, video and mobile to help them connect instantly and seamlessly with their audiences.

    Responsibilities

    • Become proficient in the DoubleClick Bid Manager platform. Ensure proper solution and feature adoption.
    • Onboard new partners on the platform, deliver initial consulting, and closely coach them in campaign management.
    • Develop and expand relationships with key advertising clients and agencies, including identifying opportunities for clients to increase advertiser spends efficiently.
    • Develop case studies and educational materials for clients, and understand the digital platform landscape and marketplace, especially as it relates to agencies and buyers.
    • Escalate, track and resolve key client issues and manage expectations both internally and externally with clients for campaign implementation, management and performance.

    Qualifications

    Minimum qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with advertising agencies, ad networks or advertising technology companies and experience using Google AdWords, or other display buying platform.
    • Good understanding of the online advertising industry, including knowledge of the underlying technology, major companies, and research.
    • Self starter who can thrive in a fast-paced environments with limited supervision; Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
    • High-level sales skills (consultative selling, solution selling).
    • Desire to learn deeply across multiple products, with a focus on ad-serving, rich media, analytics and programmatic display.
    • Strong analytical, written and communication skills. Ability to understand and absorb complex technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience effectively.
