Introduction

Key Role & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced electrical draughting functions using computer aided draughting for all building services engineers, but especially electrical services to applicable WSP, local and international standards, including basic design such as small power and lighting designs, power reticulation, etc., and detailing (up to “as built level”) under limited supervision of Project Engineer.
• Work with a team of Engineers on multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
• Capable of resolving co-ordination items for difficult layouts.
• Electronic filing of WSP drawings and drawings received from all related professionals in accordance with WSP electronic filing procedures.
• Electronic and hard copy issuing of drawings to relevant professionals in accordance with WSP drawing issue procedures.
• In depth knowledge of applicable standards, including local and international draughting good practise.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical standard, including local and international standards.
• Understand ‘on-site’ items & the practicalities of the manufacture of equipment and installation methods utilised on site.
• Scope of work is 80 design and draughting, and 20% site related responsibilities.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Matric
• Draughting certificate obtained from a recognised training facility
• Autocad & Revit certificate obtained from a recognised training facility
• Minimum 3 years’ electrical engineering draughting experience working in a Consulting Engineering Draughting Office environment.
• Proficiency on other 3D draughting software will be an advantage
• Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office
