    Job Description
    Technical Operations Manager: Workplace

    An exciting opportunity exist for a suitably qualified and skilled individual to join the IT Infrastructure department in Group IT at the Corporate Office.

    Key Performance Outputs

    The successful candidate, reporting to the Senior Manager (IT Infrastructure) will be responsible for the following:

    • Responsible for the strategy, design, and general health (stability and availability) of relevant workplace services;
    • Manage patch and image management activities of end user environment;
    • Ensure all new workplace initiatives are aligned and prioritised according the IT strategic roadmap;
    • Ensure Monitoring of all events and take appropriate control action to address the events;
    • Take full accountability for the delivery of Workplace services per Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and Operation Level Agreements (OLA’s);
    • Identify, design, develop, implement, and evaluate Workplace Solutions programs to continually support ACSA’s Workplace Solutions strategy;
    • Manage and support the Workplace Solutions programs and initiatives with an aim to leverage or lead industry best practices and standards;
    • Assist in the development of annual operating budgets, monitor budget expenditures, and Prepare budget revisions;
    • Provide interim status reports on all accounts;
    • Monitor and ensure adherence to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies, and procedures;
    • Plan, organise, lead and control subordinate's activities to ensure sub-functional objectives are met or exceeded;
    • Provide technical / professional support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives.

    Technical Skills and Experience

    The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such, will be required:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant;
    • 5 years’ operational experience in IT Workplace Management;
    • 2 years’ supervisory experience in Project Management;
    • Working knowledge of the Aviation/Transport and/or Airport industries as well as Technology Trends;
    • An appreciation of the dynamics of the public sector;
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

    Competencies

    • This position calls for an individual who is strategic, well-organised, methodical and pays attention to detail. The candidate must demonstrate good judgement and the skill to clearly explain a point of view and its reasoning, thus actively building and managing social networks both inside and outside the organization. It is vital that the candidate solves challenging problems, sets definite milestones, and manage ideas to achieve goals and targets.
