    National Sales Manager

    Job description

    Main Purpose of Job

    The core purpose of the role of the National Sales Manager is to effectively manage and drive sales growth and activities in line with the Dermal Institute of South Africa’s business philosophy and company objectives, through cultivating and leading a high performance team.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Tertiary Degree & Microsoft proficiency with advanced Excel skills (spreadsheets and reports)
    • 5 years sales experience & 3 years management experience

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Achieve sales targets:
      • Meet sales and financial objectives, profitable goals and ensuring increased growth in existing business by providing strategic support and working effectively with brand consultants and eco-systems.
      • Devise creative and tactical plans to reduce competitor activity in existing doors as well as grow market share by gaining new doors from competitor brands. A monthly competitor analysis to be completed in order to gain clarity on competitor activity within the portfolio.
      • Disseminate sales reports on an eco-system to measure and report on account performance by key account managers and regional managers, as well as on unit growth and new product performance.
      • To ensure quality new accounts that brand consultants are opening and minimum growth requirements are met as per set targets and strategically growing new geographies through key account managers and regional manager.
      • Complete and report on opening orders and effectively monitor the lead sheet on a weekly basis.
      • System’s utilization ie CRM and Qlikview:
      • Ensure the sales team utilizes and applies the systems designed to improve efficiencies and enable them to effectively influence the account.
      • Pull reports in order to accurately analyze their portfolio
      • Ensure the detail of each call is captured and client history is maintained and there is continuity.
    • Strategic planning
      • Conceptualize and implement long term and short term strategies to maintain as well as grow our market share.
    • Forecasting:
      • Ensure accurate forecasting of deals, event targets, new business targets and launch targets.
      • Ensuring effective communication of deals to key account managers and regionals, as well as drive effective sell through, through accurate forecasting of deals.
    • Financial indicators:
      • Analyze and control expenditure within authorized budgets.
      • Report on actual spend per month allocated out of sales budget upon receiving P&L.
      • Manage financial analysis of accounts in portfolio, so as to reduce debtors.
    • Succession planning, team capacity, eco system implementation & high performance teams:
      • Effective management of sales team and recruitment of new team members
      • Monitoring and reporting on successful implementation of the eco system plan.
      • Ensure all staff requirements are achieved.
      • Be a key liaison / building relationships and upholding excellence.
      • Quarterly appraisals conducted within stipulated time frames using provided templates in order to optimize overall team performance.
      • Develop, lead and manage key account managers and regional managers, to meet performance objectives, results orientated and culturally in line with Dermalogica brand values.
      • Perform talent reviews and identify individuals within the team whereby succession planning can be applied.
      • To ensure all admin related tasks and internal/external communication is carried out proficiently, professionally and accurately and that all reports are submitted timeously
