If you are a recently qualified individual who is Trade Test Certified and has a minimum of 2 years’ working experience, then this opportunity is definitely for you.

We require a hands-on, analytical, innovative, logical and mature thinker, who can provide hands-on maintenance support to the various Distribution Centres (Automated and Semi-automated). The role requires a self-managed individual who is reliable, punctual and who is multi skilled in order to perform a variety of tasks within the DC’s, such as:

• Repair conveyors;
• Replace bearings;
• Sensor alignment;
• Welding skills;
• Supervision of painting;
• Basic carpentry;
• General problem identification and repair;
• General production maintenance (mechanical);
• Yard and building maintenance;
• Oversee the generator;
• Oversee the pump house and sprinkler system;
• Minor electrical knowledge;
• Oversee the maintenance of forklifts.
• Strong emphasis is placed on minor building maintenance tasks with an understanding of preventative maintenance systems. PLC debugging and fault finding experience would be preferable, but not essential. Ideally, the best suited person would be a mechanical, mechatronic or electrically minded individual.

Requirements:

• Preferably 2 years technical and maintenance experience;
• Mechanical trade, mechatronics qualification or Millwright trade certificate;
• Preferably a “N” technical qualification;
• PLC programing awareness and problem solving (Siemens and Allen Bradley);
• Exposure to automation systems;
• Must know conveyor systems;
• Computer literate;
• Good communication skills;
• Ability to work overtime during the week (19:00) and possibly weekends (Sat 08:00 to 16:00);
• Have a continuous improvements mindset.
