    Essential Qualifications

    Advanced Diplomas / Degree in Accounting or Finance related qualification

    Preferred Qualification

    Bachelor of Commerce: Honours - Accounting

    Minimum Experience Level

    • A minimum of 5 years in financial management experience preferably in the financial services industry.
    • Previous experience as a Financial Officer
    • Budgeting forecasting experience
    • Banking or financial services exposure
    • End to end financial management experience
    • Experience with internal customers (i.e. business partners)
    • Experience developing or taking part in Strategy sessions

    Job Purpose:

    To generate; analyse and report reliable; meaningful financial and non-financial information to support the requirements and decision making of the business; in line withthe bank’s’ strategy.

    Job Responsibilities:

    •  Build and maintain collaborative relationships; and ensure smooth flow of work and alignment of audit requirements as set by the company by interacting with the company
    •  Quality Assurance Director and continuous improvement champions; through engagement at tele-conferences; meetings and strategy sessions.
    •  Obtain buy -in for implementation of proposed continuous improvement changes and initiatives by engaging with GIA Exco during meetings.
    • Maintain collaborative relationships and meet the expectations and needs of clients by assisting GIA stakeholders and by providing professional and objective input on relevant queries raised.
    • Build trusting relationships by ensuring input provided is well thought through; aligned to methodology; takes into account practicality; addresses business needs; following a consistent approach based on the same logic and by taking into account external variables.
    • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in the bank Culture building initiatives (e.g. Staff surveys etc.).
    •  Achieve business strategy (e.g. Green Strategy) by participating and supporting corporate responsibility initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities to improve or enhance business processes and methodologies by researching; developing; implementing and recommending improvement initiatives and effective ways to operate and add value to the bank.
    •  Contribute to improved client service by designing and building audit tools; methodologies and templates; based on frameworks obtained from stakeholders or a regulatory source that aligns to the company's requirements.
    • rovide input into GIA outcomes by performing formal reviews of such communication and by ensuring accuracy of messages and compliance to reporting standards.
    • Ensure GIA methodology is complied with by conducting quality assurance interventions as agreed with the CIA and shared with GIA Exco.
    • Achieve continuous improvement through identifying and developing appropriate interventions such as training; practice notes; processes and audit methodology; through conducting file reviews and soliciting feedback from stakeholders.
    • Provide professional guidance to auditors and managers and enable corrective action and risks minimised by identifying areas for improvement and by conducting quality assessment interventions.
    • Provide suggestions; feedback and practical guidance to Group Internal Audit (GIA) on the application of audit methodology; by conducting an independent review of audit files and ensuring consistent application of methodology (risk parameters).
    • Improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self; through input and feedback from management.
    • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning curriculum activates are completed within specified timeframes.
    • Share professional knowledge by providing input and guidance to the application of methodology and educating stakeholders.
    • Ensure the implementation of changes and interventions are supported and aligned to business objectives by obtaining buy-in from GIA Exco and by presenting benefits of proposed changes and interventions.
