Purpose of Job / Role Intent:

• To execute policies/procedures and systems that will ensure all Base Chemicals customs export documents are 100% correct with worksheets calculations checked .
• To review export customs procedures and examine opportunities to streamline processes and practices to continuously ensure 100% adherence to the act.
• To ensure that all export customs documents and VOC’s are submitted on time and released before any export occurs.
• To assist with operational relationship with SARS, Customs and to handle all queries, audits, inspections and penalties.
• To ensure compliance with all Customs legal/regulatory requirements regarding the export of Sasol’s product .
• To maintain all base chemicals training records with regards to customs training.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required

• Completed Degree/Diploma
• At least 7 years’ experience working in an export customs clearance department in SARS.
• Experience in managing the operational relationship with SARS and customs officials.

Core elements of the job

• Execute customs related export strategies, policies and procedures.
• Checking (through audits and spots checks) of all SARS documents, clearing instructions, worksheets and any other SARS related documents.
• Driving continuous improvement of the customs export value chain, assisting in identifying optimization opportunities, gap analysis, redesign and implementation.
• Training of all export people in accordance with the act.
• Execute on policies and procedures in place ensuring compliance adherence for VOC’s.
• Export clearing instructions.
