UX Design Lead at Applogix

Reports to: Head of UX

Purpose

An opportunity to be part of one of SA's largest agencies leading an expanding UX team.

Working across omni-platform channels, you will be delivering beautiful user experiences across web, mobile(native) and wearables with a team of multifaceted UX professionals.

Roles and responsibilities

• Develop new user-centred visual and interaction solutions to complex problems.
• Apply strong user-centred design (UCD) methodologies to digital applications from concept to launch.
• Execution of the design process, project management principles, managing client relationships, and pre-sales activities.
• Lead department to create innovative user interfaces for web, mobile (native) and other digital products.
• Translate wireframes and detailed requirements into engaging, user-centred visual designs.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of brand as experience throughout the department.
• Implementation of user-centric approach to design principles and best practices.
• Ensure the department has up-to-date knowledge of current interaction design trends and methodologies.
• Generate and design intelligent concepts that are both uniquely creative and easy to use.
• Effective time management with the ability to juggle multiple projects across a broad range of clients/accounts.
• Present to and manage client relationships across multiple brands.

Skills required

• 7+ Years design experience (at least 5 years of solid UX experience)
• Passionate about all things user-centric and uses this to spearhead and direct the team towards intuitive solutions
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills within a UX capacity
• Excellent communication skills to deliver project presentations to client, stakeholders and internal business units
• Previous experience running workshops
• A portfolio with commercial examples of stunning user-centred designs, innovative concepts and UX solutions across web and mobile platforms (native)
• Fluidity across all areas of User Experience Design - from Research, A/B Testing, Information Architecture through to hi-fi prototyping (and a desire to stay 'hands on'!)
• A creative and innovative flair and penchant for keeping up to date with the latest and greatest trends, news and tools.
• At least 7 + years of web design and UX experience
• Excellent knowledge of web design and coding tools: Adobe CS, Sketch, Dreamweaver and Wireframes Tools
• Proven track record in keeping up with usability/accessibility techniques and standards
• Fundamental understanding of HTML, JavaScript and CSS
• Advantageous:

HFI certification: Certified Usability Analyst
Fundamental technical knowledge
Bachelors degree in Visual Communication
