SC Johnson has an opportunity for Manager, Sales Operations based in Fairland, South Africa.

ROLE SUMMARY

Manager - Sales Operations will be responsible for overseeing the entire Sales Operations Team within a country. Implementing strategy, action plans and controlling Category Management (CatMan) initiatives and executions for identified Customers and core Channels.

Will be driving the efficient and productive use of Platform approved Sales Technology Tools and Processes, optimizing in-store execution via the effective management of the merchandising team (whether in-house of 3rd Party), and leading new channel and distribution development programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Category Management
• In partnership with Customer Marketing, develops Planograms, Fixturization, and CatMan strategies and executional guidelines for identified Customers
• Supports the Customer Marketing and Sales Team in executing Advantage Survey action plans
• Lead Shopper research focused on key channels and Customers, aggregate the research needs of the entire Cluster, and coordinate final approvals with Platform Sales Excellence Team
• Supports the Customer Marketing and Sales Team in executing Advantage Survey action plans
• Merchandising and Promotional Services
• Ensure in-store Merchandiser resources are optimized, and 3rd Party Agency provides quality service at competitive terms
• Collaborate with Platform Sales to ensure merchandising services deliver ROI
• Sales Tools and Analytics
• Provides Sales and M&C Teams with key Point-of-Sales analytics based on different sources and insights (e.g., Nielsen or Dunhumby Key Account Data Analytics, CRM insights from customers, Category, Channel and Shopper Insights, Ratings and Reviews) for better understanding of both Category and SCJ opportunities and threats
• Administrative/Support Services
• Handles Sales Incentive Budget management, and calculations of earned incentives for the Sales Team
• Monitors Trade Returns, and propose corrective actions to reduce actual levels and values
• Co-leads the Sales Team’s budget setting process, and ensures targets assigned to Channels/Geographies/Customers are fair and appropriate
• Supports the Sales Director/Country Manager in the overall tracking of functional, and provides recommendations to ensure budgets are not exceeded

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:

• Min 8 years’ experience in FMCG sales operations management with at least 2 years’ experience as National KAM/Customer Marketing and Field Sales roles
• Min 5 years line management experience is preferred
• Multi-functional experience in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods company (Household Care Company would be an asset)
• Cross experience of Sales & Category planning
• Knowledge of the Categories, pertinent Key Customers, and key competitive set
• Strong management and leadership skills
• Proven track record of delivering objectives consistently
• Strategic mind set, understands the strategic & tactical nature of the business.
• Demonstrate ability to manage up and across organization
• People management and team building skills
