Job description

The Financial Manager will be in charge of analysis and interpretation of the financial activities of the business area in order to meet the goals and projections of the business. This will also entail an astute level of financial advice and guidance to upper management in order to meet budgets and expectations. The ultimate goal being that the company can make sound and informed decisions based on the information presented, as well as identify areas of potential improvement and saving.

Key responsibilities:

• Analysis and interpretation of all financial information, including indepth analysis of revenue and performance tracking
• Monthly and weekly reporting of key financial information to the Senior Finance Manager and Financial Director
• Manage a team to ensure that all deadlines and requests from business are met
• Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff including operational directors, whilst recommending further courses of action.
• Forecast of cashflow amongst the various entities
• Offer guidance on complexities relating to Companies Act, IFRS, direct and indirect taxation, and legal issues
• Perform and implement measure for consolidation across the various entities and across various currencies.
• Liaise with various auditors
• Manage of business area budgets and forecasts
• Create synergies amongst all the entities, including new acquisitions

Minimum requirements:

• CA (SA) with minimum 5 years post articles
• Big four articles with be preferable
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Proven experience as a Financial Manager or equivalent
• Experience in dealing with fast paced and high volume sectors
• Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
• A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles such as IFRS
• Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
