    Financial Manager

    Job description

    Do you have a full understanding of the financial aspects of a Manufacturing concern including costing & stock?

    Are you able to manage a diverse team?

    This is an excellent opportunity for growth within a large International Concern.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Financial Degree, Cost Accounting qualification and/or CIMA qualification highly advantageous
    • Min 3 years’ experience as a manager within a Financial Department at a Manufacturing Company

    DUTIES:

    • Reporting directly to the Regional MD and the group CFO
    • Management of financial division being involved with employees in the factory and understanding the full spectrum of the business all the way to the top
    • Manage all financial and administrative aspects
    • Ensure that Group Financial Policies and Procedures are adhered to at all times
    • Presentation of accurate monthly Management Accounts
    • Ensure credit policies are adhered to, oversee the collection process
    • Actively involved in resolving problematic accounts
    • High level interaction with insurers
    • Prepare monthly credit control performance reports
    • Review monthly statement reconciliation and release account payments
    • Oversee stock control process & ensure procedures are followed and variances resolved
    • Investigate and resolve periodic stock issues
    • Manage obsolete stock provision; report quarterly on slow moving and absolute stocks
    • Ensuring that annual price increases are updated in system
    • Review all contract customer prices ensure they are updated prior to expiry
    • Review of VAT returns and compliance of VAT Act
    • Preparation of Monthly Executive Payroll
    • Submission of Annual Production Incentive Application to the IDC
    • Handling all claims and correspondence relating to the PI scheme
    • Preparation of Annual Expense Budget Packs & Insurance Return
    • Co-ordination of Annual Audit, audit assistance - packs preparation and review of AFS
    • Provisional Tax calculations
    • Preparation of Annual Income Tax Packs for use by tax consultants
    • Annual calculation of labour, overhead recovery rates & maintenance of costing systems
    • Daily review of margin exception reports and subsequent investigation
    • Quarterly review visits to Durban factory
    • Assist in capex justifications and approval
    • Assist in identifying opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings
    • Actively participate in regular management meetings with senior management team
    • Highlighting areas of improvement on BEE rating, tracking progress
    • Overview of annual EE & WSP Submissions
