C# Software Developer - Telecommute at redPanda Software

Be part of a growing Cape Town-based, South African Software House, developing high-end retail and financial software. We are seeking seasoned C# Software developers with at least 5 years relevant on the job experience.

Allowances provided to contribute towards home based infrastructure e.g. PC and communications.

(* Must be available during South African core hours 10:00 GMT+2 till 15:00 GMT+2) and be available to travel to Head Office in South Africa periodically.)

Job Specification:

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Developing Enterprise (nTier) Application Software for the Retail and Financial domains. Applications include the full enterprise stack.
• Generalist with a proven track record in the following core competencies: Development extends to Front-end, Middle Tier and Databases and includes Presentation Layer, Business Logic, Data, Services, Databases and Scripting.

Technologies include but not limited to:

•  C#.Net
• Exposure to data tier abstraction technologies e.g. .NET Entity Framework will be an advantage
• Presentation Layer (UI) – WPF, Windows Forms, Mobile, ASP, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap
• Scripting Languages – Javascript
• Databases – Relational Databases experience necessary (MSSQL)
• Operating System (O/S) – WINDOWS
• Exposure to any of the popular Testing Tools preferable:
  • Unit Testing
  • Daily Standups via Skype
  • Ad Hoc Meetings via Skype as required for the project
  • Contribute to refinement of specifications as part of the team to create logical design & functional specifications

Education and General Working Experience

• IT related qualification required.
• At least 5 years solid C# on-the-job work related development experience. Remuneration package will be tailored according to relevant technical experience.
• Good grasp of Object Orientation and Design Patterns.
• Prior experience working in an Agile development environment essential.

• Must have a valid passport and visa, and be willing to travel to South Africa periodically – Company will cover travel and accommodation costs
