Job description

The Key Performance Areas for this position include:

• Maintain the accounts payable ledger (control account) with average agreed book value
• Maintain the accounts payable sub-ledger (customer control accounts)
• Reconcile the control accounts at month-end (resolving all queries before month-end)
• Payment on the bank to be uploaded 2 days prior to month-end
• 30 days supplier recons to be reconciled & completed by the 20th of each month
• Resolution customer queries
• Reconcile & update the diners club card payments
• Creditors age analysis to balance to the GL
• Bank reconciliations to be updated daily
• Preparation for overseas payments ( mainly in millions of Euros)
• Bank reconciliations to be signed
• Fixed asset allocations to be completed by the 3rd working day of month-end
• VAT settlement report & large invoices supporting documentation (SAEL & SDV) to be saved on shared drive
• Supplier files to be organized, timely and complete with all necessary documents
• Ensure that banking details are updated and verified before payment
• Internal reporting: preparation of the month-end reports for the management pack
• System and SOP input

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Matric/ Grade 12 equivalent, bookkeeping diploma or degree with accounting as subject
• 2 year’s Working Experience
• Knowledge of Navision & excel skills, with strong reconciliation skills
• 2 years’ experience in creditors
• Other requirements
• Own, reliable transport required for possible standby and shift work.
