Job description

Aveng Mining offers services across the mining value chain, from shaft sinking, underground development, contract mining and open cut mining, to construction of mine infrastructure. The operating group's experience spans a broad range of commodities and it has worked successfully in remote and difficult locations.

The incumbent will be responsible to assist the Engineering Manager in the overall administration and technical direction of projects in the relevant discipline, within a multi discipline project environment throughout the full life cycle of a project. The execution of work within man-hour, cost budgets and time schedules. The incumbent is also responsible for the specifications and technical acceptability of all the relevant equipment.

Minimum Requirements ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• B Eng Degree
• Professionally registered with ECSA as Pr.Eng
• GCC Mines and Works

Experience

• 10 Years’ work related experience
• 5 years shaft and winder related experience.
• Electrical, control and instrumentation experience in EPC / EPCM project execution in the mining industry

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead all Electrical, Control and Instrumentation activities for Aveng Mining, including design and drawing office requirements
• Provides engineering input into planning and roll-out of projects in conjunction with the project team
• Provides engineering information to the relevant stakeholders
• Implement the project according to project requirements and specifications
• Implements and makes recommendations to policies and procedures
• Generates technical engineering documentation for procurement of goods or services
• Conducts technical review of documents and drawings
• Builds and maintains relationships with the relevant stakeholders
• Assists with the pre-commissioning and commissioning of the relevant facilities and services
• Verifies and approves constructed plant in area of responsibility
• Adheres to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures
• Provides technical support and training to the relevant project team members
• Provides ongoing technical support and training to the operations
