    Forensic Investigator / Analyst

    Job description

    The purpose of the position is to execute investigations into suspected fraudulent or irregular behaviours.

    The responsibilities of the position include:

    • Forensic Investigations
      • Responsible and accountable for leading, conducting and reporting on forensic investigations
      • Achieve investigative objectives through quality, in-depth reviews and deliver quality investigations and reporting, as well as execute work programmes with each investigation to ensure that investigative objectives and factual reports are produced
      • Obtain and Interpret all relevant information with regards to the investigations
      • Conduct, plan and execute investigative fieldwork
      • Submit formal report/s pertaining to all investigations, completed and make recommendations to mitigate risks identified
      • Testify in Internal and Criminal hearings as required
      • Work closely with relevant CIT provider to identify suspects responsible for cash losses as investigated
    • Systems and Processes
      • Ensure that all processes related to Forensic Investigations within the Security Department are well documented and continuously updated as required
      • Capture all investigations on Online Intelligence
      • All new processes to be documented and updated as required
      • Inter-Departmental Relationships
      • Complete all required documentation as per security process procedures and submit within prescribed time frames
      • Engage with various internal departments to obtain information regarding investigations
      • Act timeously on requests
      • All information needs to be sent through to relevant departments as required and concluded within set time frames
    • Risk Management
      • Contain existing and potential losses
      • Identify risk and consult with stakeholders to take corrective action
      • Amend policies and procedures that result in reduced losses and provide professional input and advice on appropriate risk mitigation actions
      • Review and analyze processes, improving business results, reducing losses and provide guidance on trends
      • Reduce losses and assist stakeholders in implementing risk management processes
      • Ensure risk mitigation actions are implemented and provide risk insight
      • Collectively recommend appropriate mitigation actions and communicate trends to clients and investigators

    In order to be considered for the position, the following requirements must be met:

    • Matric
    • Completed Forensic Auditing/ Investigation Qualification
    • Minimum 5 years Forensic experience
    • Minimum 2 years Investigations (Criminal/Forensic) experience
    • Internal Audits experience would be an advantage
    • South African Police Services Experience
    • MS Office Proficiency (Word and Excel)
    • Analyses Software – Online Intelligence preferably
    • For internal candidates, references will be obtained from your current manager
