Job description

Perform solution design and software development in accordance with ICT standards and enterprise architecture. Own responsibility in the full system development and support lifecycle namely: design, develop, package, release, maintain and enhance solutions.

Technical Delivery

• Design, develop and implement applications for stand-alone and enterprise solutions
• Perform required analytical and design roles to compile technical system specifications
• Consume and interpret technical specification to develop the required application
• Apply best practice development methodologies
• Develop and apply troubleshooting skills required to resolve issues
• Maintain a knowledge base for known errors
• Perform independent unit testing on developed software
• Input and guidance for test case development
• Provide technical support to the testing teams
• Provide input and guidance into the compliance documentation required for implementation of software to the production environment e.g.
• Operations and support manual
• Training manual
• DR plan
• Service Desk support guide
• Provide technical support (2nd and 3rd line)
• Adhere to adopted organization development standards
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Provide input to functional and technical requirements
• Engage with customer and support teams to understand and resolve technical issues
• Consult with clients and analysts during system development lifecycle
• Provide input into system and infrastructure designs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology
• 5+ years software development experience
• Experience in web development (front and back end)
• Extensive experience in C#, JavaScript, CSS and HTML 5
• Experience in Spatial software (ArcGis API, OpenLayers or similar)
• Strong SQL development experience
• Strong experience in multiple frameworks and platforms will be an advantage
• A solid software development foundation in data structures, algorithms and patterns
• Experience in developing analytical solutions (logic and mathematics)
• Good communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to prioritise tasks and deliver within prescribed timeframe
• Well organized team player with comprehensive organisational skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to perform under pressure and handle stressful situations
• Create and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and customers
• Motivated to keep abreast with latest technologies
