Multi-Billion rand fund seeks in-house developer. As one of our countries most established REITS, this powerhouse of real estate investment has managed to purchase a wide range of properties all over South Africa and East Africa to ensure year on year growth. Their investment policy is clear : diversify and add value. Current asset under management therefore range from affordable housing to triple A grade offices - and they are not afraid to 'grow their own stock' through development. With a portfolio the size of theirs, ongoing asset management will also require some major refurbishment or extension projects. Whilst all professional services for such developments are outsourced, they are looking to appoint a development manager to take charge of these teams, and to work with Joint Venture parters. The focus will undoubtedly be in the retail sector at this stage, but the role is poised to grow into a client representative one on all projects in future. There are no internal project managers for you to assign to smaller tasks to, so get ready to roll up your sleeves and set up a development department from scratch. This is a top achievers environment, and so you need to bring your A game daily, by using your extensive Retail experience to ensure that the most cost effective, beautiful and sustainable projects are delivered. Only apply if you have a university degree in a construction related field, and have started and completed at least 2 retail projects. Our open minded client is ready to consider Project Manager, Architects or Quantity Surveyors who are ready to cross over into development, but you need to see a STABLE local track record.
