    Job description

    Business Unit: Satellite Operations

    Role Category: Process Optimisation

    Closing date: 26 June 2017

    Purpose of Job /Role Intent:

    To enable an Integrated Management System for Sasol Satellite locations, conforming to the requirements of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, Responsible Care, Occupational Safety Management Standards, Corporate SHE requirements based on Sasol business processes and aligned with the SHE risk based and One Sasol SHE Excellence Approach. Provide guidance and training to all Satellite location stakeholders on SHE integrated management systems and ensure the effective integration of SHE requirements into relevant business processes.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience required

    • Relevant B.Eng/BSc(Hons)/ B.Degree(Hons):
    • Minimum of 4 years total work experience

    OR

     

    • Relevant B.Tech/ B.Degree:
    • Minimum of 6 years total work experience

    OR

    • Relevant Diploma:
    • Minimum of 8 years total work experience

    Key Accountabilities

    • Plan and execute roll-out of Sasol Integrated Management System within Satellite Operations and ensure effective change management at business and area level
    • Coordinate the establishing, tracking, monitoring, review and reporting of SHE objectives, targets and management programs and ensure alignment with the SHE game plan and focus areas.
    • Align SHE management systems with SHE performance requirements and SHE risk based approach in collaboration with Satellite Operations SHE management.
    • Implement and maintain internationally recognised management standards by utilising approved enabling technology to effectively execute the Satelite loactions SHE business processes.
    • Gather information on business/area-specific audit trail requirements and conformance details and develop, implement and maintain Satelite loactions audit trails to provide assurance that all requirements are met.
    • Integrate SHE standard and other requirements with enabling technolgy master data to ensure compliance.
    • Conduct regular system integrity and compliance checks and address deviations in collaboration with relevant department manager or relevant system super user.
    • Review and align informative and functional sections of business Integrated management system when changes occur to Group, Satellite Operations specific procedures, standards, legal requirements or business processes. Ensure rollout of changes and new developments to enabling technology.
    • Coordinate user acceptance testing and sign-off of new or improved enabling technology developments in collaboration with relevant role players.
    • Implement the governance framework for the Satellite Operations SHE Integrated Management System and ensure that is correctly applied by all relevant stakeholders.
    • Align and integrate SHE and other policies, procedures, work instructions, business SHE requirements and functionalities.
    • Implement the management of change process and ensure that it is correctly followed for system changes.
    • Identify and implement SHE monitoring and surveillance requirements to ensure compliance with legal, corporate, international, and industry standards for evaluation.
    • Establish audit protocols for assurance program to evaluate Satelite loactions compliance to SHE requirements.
    • Assist departments across the business in preparing for internal and external audits and act as auditee where relevant.
    • Conduct root cause analysis and determine corrective and preventive action resulting from 2nd and 3rd party audits, follow up and ensure all loops are closed.
    • Track and monitor the implementation of corrective and preventative actions originating from audits and self assessments.
    • Monitor the effectiveness of corrective and preventive action implemented through risk based field verfification and relevant objective evidance for clearance of findings where relevant.
    • Provide systems administration support relating to IMS, Risk, Non-conformance system and legal appoint tool as per authorisations.
    • Analyse audit finding root causes that were determined and corrective and preventive actions implemented as part of the continuous improvement process.
    • Provide assurance on the close-out of corrective action plans and the effectiveness therof.
    • Assess the SHE excellence maturity annually against conformance to SHE performance requirements in the One Sasol SHE Excellence approach.
    • Coordinate the process to consolidate information for the SHE management reviews to evaluate SHE performance results and determine the suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of Satelite loactions SHE sytems, practices and improvement actions.
    • Extract and interpret data from enabing technology and prepare month reports and presentations on the performance of the business/department SHE mangement system.
    • Provide feedback at relevant department business meeting/s on status and compliance results.
    • Coach the business leaders on effective execution and utilization of relevant SHE enabling technology.
    • Provide training and coaching to enabling technology end-users on SHE management standars, other requirements and new initiatives.
    • Ensure that Integrated Management System training material are established and aligned with the Risk-based and One Sasol SHE Excellence Approach and standardised across sites (eg, SHE Management system awareness).
    • Provide subject matter input for SHE Integrated Management System training material.
    • Enable and sustain high performance and seek opportunities for personal growth monitored through a structured performance contract and development plan.
