You must be comfortable wearing many hats, changing direction quickly, and learning new technologies as and when required. You will be working in an agile (Scrum) environment with other Wordpress developers, designers, and product owners. Most of these Wordpress sites are the online representation of Media24’s magazine range
Minimum Requirements
- We don’t expect you to have a bachelor's degree in a computer science (though advantageous), we believe industry equivalent experience, skillset and the right attitude goes a long way.
- 3 to 5+ years of front-end development experience working with HTML, CSS (SASS/LESS), JavaScript (jQuery), PHP and Wordpress
- Mobile first approach to development using responsive web technologies.
- Bonus skills • WP API. • UI & UX Design principles. • Version Control – Git.
- Working experience with libraries such as JQuery, Angular and React would be advantageous. • Build and task runners – JS Build tools like Grunt, Gulp.
- Previous experience on large internet sites with high traffic load.Skills & Competencies
- A strong understanding of UI/UX design principles, with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to be relied upon to ensure projects/tasks within areas of responsibility are completed in a timely manner
- You must be able to monitor your own activities and take corrective action as and when necessary
- We expect you to work with others toward shared goals and by doing so meeting or exceeding them
- Must be flexible about working with new methodologies and technologies
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work closely with the UI Designers to translate their UI designs into pixel-perfect code.
- Some design work might be required of you, if you are comfortable doing web design.
- Ensure your code is W3C compliant and works across all popular browsers, both web and mobile-web.
- Skilled in creating newsletters and promo mailers which work across all mail clients. • Skilled in creating Wordpress themes and plugins.
