    Agro Finance Manager

    Job description

    Key Purpose Statement

    The Agro Financial Manager is responsible for leading the financial management activities of the Zone Africa Agricultural Development team. Key responsibilities include engaging with external financing and funding partners to assess and implement co-funding opportunities, leading agriculture development budget and performance management activities, overseeing financial analysis related to VIC and CWC optimization, and enhancing grower contract management processes. The role will manage a team of financial analysts and an agricultural economist across Zone Africa. The role will work closely with category managers on developing sourcing strategies and commercial policies, and the Procurement PPM teams on tracking and monitoring financial performance and variance to budget.

    Competence Requirements

    • University Degree or equivalent in finance or related fiel
    • CIMA qualification wil be advantageous
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Strong communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Ability to work effectively across diverse internal and external stakeholders
    • Knowledge and/or experience in supply chain financing, commodity risk management or related

    Output and Accountabilities

    • Engage with external funding partners to identify financing and co-investment sources that optimize program value delivery while reducing ZBB and CWC impact
    • Drive budget processes, T&M reporting and contract administration
    • Support the development of crop and country commercial policies, including barley, maize, sorghum, and cassava across Zone Africa
    • Oversee contract administration and execution within direct grower programs
    • Support regional category managers and treasury in commodity risk management
    • Lead continuous improvement process of identifying savings and working capital opportunities through grower contracting program structure and research and development structure
    • Support development of a grower training program for commodity pricing and operational budget management that deliver toward the South Africa Public Interest Commitment
    • Develop a high performing finance team and embed commercial and financial capabilities into the broader agricultural development team
