    Job Description

    Sasol seeks Leaner Technicians in the following areas:Mechanical, Electrical and Control Engineering. The learners will join Sasol on a three year technician-in-training programme (P1 & P2).

    The candidate technicians will provide technical support to managers (designated environment) and engineers by applying theoretical skills and making suggestions and implement solutions to optimise systems under supervision.

    These positions are based in Secunda, Mpumalanga.

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Ensure that work standards are met according to quality, quantity and due dates

    • Achieving delivery targets (e.g. tons, products, services; BU and Discipline Specific)
    • Ensures that self meets the targets, due dates and quality standards
    • Ensure that work standards are met according to quality standards & compliance
    • Support with quality results (Agreed standards/compliance; Support with basic processing and reporting)
    • Perform all tasks cost consciously
    • Support to gather information and data accumulation
    • Awareness and focus of cost / budget
    • Support to gather information and data accumulation
    • Achieve safety and risk objectives
    • Support safe project execution and safe work procedures
    • Apply safety in all practices, specifically project planning and execution
    • Company values and goals: supported/lived
    • Understand the company vision and values
    • Demonstrate the desired behaviours in agreement with the Sasol Values
    • Personal development and effectiveness
    • Improve own skills and knowledge
    • Take ownership for personal improvement and skills development
    • Ensure that curriculum is adhered to, completed and log book updated
    • Apply the learning experience at the workplace
    • Performance goals
    • Agree and review personal performance goals (aligned to curriculum) and the achievement thereof
    • Set and work towards set out own performance targets and goals as set out by curriculum
    • Attend six monthly panel reviews to track performance and udjust performance accordingly

    Requirements

    • S4 qualification at a University of Technology (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Control Engineering)
    • Driver’s License
    • Preference will be given to applicants from designated groups in line with Sasol’s Employment Equity Plan
