    Marketing and Communications Manager

    Job description

    Responsibilities

    (Stellenbosch based)

    • Develop integrated marketing strategies and creative campaigns to present to external designers, other consultants and the Executive Director.
    • Design, plan and implement all marketing strategies to grow reach and engagement with the Nation Builder offering.
    • Execute marketing strategy and creative campaign, liaise with all external consultants needed for campaign roll-out, as well as manage internal team involvement.
    • Project management/liaison/coordinating role with external agencies.
    • Conceptualise and manage all consumer-marketing activities including above-the-line, through-the-line and below-the-line communications on a day-to-day basis.
    • In coordination with experts, identify communication gaps and develop key messages for the consistent communication of our selling points to our target audiences/stakeholders.
    • Brief, meet, approve quotes and proposals from agencies and suppliers.
    • Draw up and manage annual communications and marketing budgets.
    • Ensure alignment and consistency of message and brand positioning on all communication.
    • Manage and ensure accessibility of all Nation Builder product offerings and tools.
    • Drive engagement through effective SEO and content management. (Includes social media and other online content).
    • Provide input into the company’s PR strategy and facilitate flow of content to the outsourced PR agency.
    • Work closely with product and business development departments to develop and implement warm-up campaigns and promotions to prospective clients to drive more engagement and recruit members.
    • Monitoring, reporting and analysis of day-to-day and campaign effectiveness of marketing and communications efforts across all communication mediums.
    • Drive new campaigns, new projects and new ideas within communications and marketing.
    • Strengthen the company image within the South African market.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to the team and Nation Builder community on communications matters pertaining to the Nation Builder and greater group.
    • Keep the Senior Management informed of progress & development of all relevant issues.
    • Content creation for website.
    • Liaise with internal teams in creating content and information to support the overall business channel.

    Requirements

    • Preferably a University BComm degree in Marketing, Communication Management or Strategic Public Relations.
    • 3-5 years in a (strategic) marketing communications position
    • CSI or NGO exposure is beneficial.
    • Basic IT awareness and skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
    • Knowledge and basic skills in Apple software (Pages, Keynote, Numbers)
    • Experience in working in a complex organisation that has more than one brand to facilitate.
    • An understanding of Google Analytics, social media, data management, web content management & email platforms.
    • Highly organised individual who can prioritise and manage tasks simultaneously.
    • Excellent written English with an eye for detail.
    • Proficiency in another South African language is beneficial.
    • Ability to work under own initiative in a high-paced environment.
    • Fun-loving team player that is driven and enjoys a challenge.
    • Must be passionate about the hopeful future of South Africa.
